It allows you to research and develop articulated and theorised architectural propositions for urban sites. The course centres on two intensive design studios that run in semester one and semester two, which represent progressive stages in the development of your projects. Design Studio 1 is concerned with conceptually establishing and orienting your project, and will involve a field trip to the city being studied. This process involves group work, in terms of research and in debating and developing strategic frameworks for the projects. In Design Studio 2 the emphasis is much more on the intense elaboration of your individual work within the overall parameters established in the first semester. Optional modules can be taken in semester one and semester two. You will have the opportunity to select from a range of modules from a number of subject areas that include: Geography Politics Digital Media Media and Cultural Studies Museum, Gallery and Heritage Studies
